(More customer reviews)The lamp holds 4 CFLs. Very bright. However, a couple of the CFLs that were included with the lamp buzz when hot. I swapped out the bulbs for 5k (full-spectrum) bulbs and am very happy. It is a tight fit though for the two bulbs that face each other, so make sure to look at the overall length of replacement bulbs. My replacement bulbs are a little too long so I left one of the older (warm spectrum) ones in there.
Great way to get 100+ watts of CFLs: similar light level to a 500 watt halogen, but obviously more efficient.
Also note that the sockets are the new GU24 base, so screw type bulbs will not work.

(More customer reviews)This is a solid lamp with a sturdy build. Installation was simple.
The base is relatively heavy and will support 'hard' angles of twist from the three movable areas. However, I do not like where the I/O switch is located; it is a separate controller unit on the power line, as opposed to on the actual lamp.
There are 3 LED's with good table coverage. It lights up my work desk (say, a surface area of ~10 square feet) well.
For those looking for a warmer glow, there is a slight caveat (a preference issue). This LED lamp emits a white glow vis-a-vis the warm yellow glow from traditional halogens. Some may find the whiteness jarring for the eyes. I personally do not mind. As such I am perfectly happy with the product.
I chose this lamp for its price and looks, but was surprised to find good illumination coverage.

(More customer reviews)As a Halogen light the unit is unquestionably bright. That is one of the big positives of Halogen bulbs. What impressed me most was the counterbalance design of the device. The lever and gears that allow for the easy and smooth lowering and raising of the lamp is ingenious and I would love to know the history of the design of this piece.
Pros:
-Great Design!
-Very bright light like all Halogens.
-Very clean white light.
-No flicker.
-Smooth movement of lamp arm.
-Long lasting bulb.
-Light device.
Negatives:
-Expensive replacement bulbs.
-The bulb runs extremely hot (Halogen normal).
-No change in brightness. (No high or low setting).
Solid unit were the biggest plus isn't the function but rather the incredibly efficient design.

(More customer reviews)Lamp is nice looking but the bulb is a non-standard, two-pin type instead of the simple screw-in type. The bulb/socket is very cheaply made - the bulb will fall out if you bump the lamp. Had to wiggle the bulb just right to get it to make electrical contact and light up. Why couldn't they have just used a standard screw-in bulb/socket??? Returned this item immediately after trying to use it.
