(More customer reviews)This entry lever was a bit more expensive than others, and there turns out to be a good reason for that slightly higher price. This lever is solid, well made, and great looking. It was easy to install, although the directions were pretty bad. Thus, if this is the first lever that you will be replacing, watch carefully as you take the old lever out of the door, as you won't get much direction from the packaging. But, once installed, you will find this lever to be a tight fit, have a smooth solid feel to its operation and well worth the cost.

(More customer reviews)I wanted the keyless entry with an ability to set/reset multiple codes as needed (family, house-sitter, etc.). When I go for a run I do not want to have to carry a key. It works great and provides all the features I neede. It fits into the existing deadbolt holes and the color and texture matched the door handle I already had and did not want to change. The only issue I have is that it can be a bit difficult to turn sometimes. It is feels as if it binds sometimes. I am still looking into that.

(More customer reviews)It is harder to find locks that can be master keyed since the lock can not have the "secure key" function if you want it master keyed.
Also, I like how this lock functions because you turn the key to unlock the lock but the handle doesn't have to turn with it making it easier to unlock with one hand. You may not understand this until you try the lock and then you will say, ahh good idea.

Kaba Ilco LL1011-26D Mechanical Pushbutton Combination Lock with Lever, Left Hand, No Key Override, Satin Chrome Finish Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the Kaba Ilco LL1011-26D (with a left hand lever) on Amazon for 1/2 price that I could buy this locally. The product arrived at my pick up location in Niagara Falls, NY, two days after I ordered with the Super Saver free shipping option. This is a very heavy duty, high quality, industrial duty door lock. It is made in the USA.
Before installing the lock, I read the instructions cover to cover. I found the instructions to be clear and concise, and the lock was a breeze to install. You will need a 2 1/8" holesaw and a 1" holesaw to install.
The combination is easy to change following the instructions in the manual. There are five keys (1-5) on this door lock. For the combination, you can only press each key once, so the maximum combination is limited to five keystrokes. Also, to make it a bit more difficult to figure out the combination, it is possible to program a combination where you press two keys at the same time.
Be careful when ordering. The photo of the left hand lever door lock and the right hand lever door lock are identical on Amazon.com. The photo that is shown for the Kaba Ilco LR1011-26D right hand lever (above) is incorrect. The photo actually depicts the left hand lever version. There is no explanation of this in either description. I had to spend some time researching this online before I ordered mine. Everything turned out OK, but I was still a little apprehensive that I might have to return the lock until I actually opened the box and saw that it was the correct one. My recommendation is that the vendor take an actual photo of the product they are selling rather than using this generic photo. This would definitely eliminate any possible confusion.
Based on my internet research, I learned that my door is considered to be a "right hand" door (ie. the door handle is on the right hand side of the door when the door is pulled open toward me), however, it takes a "left hand" lever door lock - a little bit confusing for a novice like me.
Other than the potential "left hand" vs. "right hand" lever confusion, I am very happy with this purchase on Amazon.com.

However I bought this assuming it was a SecureKey lock because the picture shows the plus symbol on the lock cylinder but when it came it was just a normal lock without the SecureKey technology so I returned it. Lesson learned -- don't trust product pictures.

Some of the doors have exterior iron doors with deadbolts on them. These locks have an excellent finish and construction. I bought a re-key kit to be able to re-key the locks as I needed. This has given me the opportunity to see the inner construction of the lock. It looks good to me, and has functioned quite well thus far.

(More customer reviews)This keypad deadbolt is a great replacement for a standard deadbolt. Here's what I like about it:
1. This product is a deadbolt that you can lock and unlock without a key. Instead, you enter a 4 digit password to lock and unlock the door. Using a code to unlock the door is much faster and easier than fumbling for keys. Also, you'll never be locked out unless your forget your code.
2. If you have a deadbolt on your door, you can easily remove it and install this deadbolt using a regular screwdriver.
3. You can set multiple codes (at least 5) to allow friends to access your home. You can easily delete the codes later when access is no longer required. Codes are set up using a 6 digit master password (which can be used to add and delete 4-digit access codes, but not to lock or unlock the door).
4. You can lock the door without the code. Just press the rectangular Schlage button (at the top) and turn the knob to the right, and your door is locked. You will still need a valid code to unlock the door. This makes locking up when you leave very convenient.
5. This lock can be made "bump-proof." Bumping is a relatively new, and very easy way to pick most deadbolts. It can be done in about 10 seconds and renders most current locks worthless as security devices. If you want to know more, search the internet for "bump key" and you'll be horrified at what you see. If you take this deadbolt to your locksmith before installing it and tell him to disable the key mechanism, your deadbolt will be completely resistant to bumping (and keys). I haven't used a key to get into my house since I've installed this.
6. The keypad is backlit, but only if you push the schlage key before you enter your code.
7. The unit uses a standard 9-volt battery. I've had mine for more than a year and haven't needed to replace it.
8. The one feature that I wish this deadbolt had was time based entry rules. I'd love to create a password which only works during certain hours, so that a housekeeper could access the house on a certain day or at a certain time. Alas, nothing is perfect...
