Fast shipping- thanks Amazon! It took me two minutes to install (maybe less). The quality is fantastic, and I am going to order three more for all my other bathrooms. This is truly a quality product. It actually matches my toilet better than the cold hard seat that it replaced.
You won't go wrong paying a little extra for this comfort seat.

(More customer reviews)i got the bamboo toilet seat to replace a wooden one. first it is easyer to keep clean becuse unlike the wooden one it dose not absorb moister, as a toilet seat you can imagen what kind. it is as smooth as a plastic seat but not so cold on your behind as synthetic seats. also the nickle hinges do not leave a green stain on the toilet, another problem i had with wooden seats becuse they almost always come with brass hardwear. i have bamboo cutting boards as well and exspect this to be a very durabe seat, and will proby put one in the second bath as well.

(More customer reviews)When received the seat had unsightly brown marks all along the external circumference. These marks do not come off with soap and water, the only approved cleaning materials according to the manufacturer. I returned the seat and ordered another. SAME PROBLEM!! Apparently when the manufacturer seals the seat in plastic the sealing device uses heat to make the seal and this is what damages the seat as the blemishes were consistent with the sealing seam. I returned the second seat and bought another brand.

(More customer reviews)If you are tired of toilet seats that move, break, split, or stain, this is the one for you! It used to be that you installed a wooden seat, and you MIGHT have to change the thing in about 20 years; nowadays, you are lucky to get one to last a month. Wooden seats are nice when they don't split or discolor, or the paint peels. Plastic seats are just plain flimsey, and padded seats are nice for a few months until they split as well. And almost all of them have one disadvantage--plastic fasteners.
I bought an acrylic seat, a Ginsey, at the big box store to replace my worn out wooden one, and even though it had metal bolts, the nuts were the plastic variety, and as anyone who has tried has found out, There aren't any nuts that will fit the particular threading of the bolts. It seems the "toilet police" want to protect us from ourselves so that we don't overtighten the bolts and crack the bowl. Why they should care is anybody's guess, but I have gotten so frustrated with nylon bolts that don't keep the seat from shifting. As if this were not bad enough, within a week the Ginsey broke where the hardware was screwed to the lid! I ordered the Comfort Seat from Amazon, figuring if it was a hunk of junk, at least I can return it with minimum fuss.
Imagine my surprise when the item arrived to discover that not only was it a solid, sturdy looking seat, but the hardware AND the bolts were chrome! It has been two months, and I am sitting pretty, and tight!
Oh, and I found I am bright enough to tighten the bolts just enough without breaking to bowl.

(More customer reviews)I was remodeling my bathroom and was looking for a fancy ocean themed toilet seat. The ones I found were too expensive or just not right until I stumbled on this gem at almost half the price of the other comparable ones. It is much prettier then the picture. It looks to be have real sand, real shells in it. When you look at the underside of the lid you can tell. It is not too heavy but has more weight than regular toilet sets. It is a round toilet set, so if you have one of those bullet or oval type toilets like I do, it does not fit it completely but it's something I'm happy to put up with. It arrived quickly, and well packaged so not to get damaged, but it seems pretty tough and after over 6 months of usage it still looks pretty with no stains, no scratches. It is perfect! Do not hesitate to spend the $$ on this.

Amazon only has a "generic" description and it says "Whisper-Close Hinges". But the seller I purchased the seat from informed me that what THEY had was normal-closing hinges. I didn't have a problem with that so I went ahead and purchased the seat anyway. Glad I did!

My one complaint is that I can't determine the country of origin. I'm hoping we're hanging on to the ability to make toilet seats.
I chose this seat after Wal-mart quit carrying the U.S. made Magnolia brand in favor of yet more inferior product from China.
Several things make this superior to other padded seats I own or have owned;
First this seat is made over a rounded wooden base. The Magnolia brand in contrast uses a flat wooden base and relies entirely on the padding which can result in some discomfort.
Second this seat has a really well-made and durable hinge. I have one toilet that has been problematic with the common 2 separate hinges design. The single hinge design of the model I chose solves that entirely. The fit and finish on the hinge is also quite good. It's also easier to attach securely than any other I've installed.
Third the vinyl is top quality as well. No bunching or failure of any kind so far. This is a real problem on most padded seats but the Comfort Seat is holding up perfectly.
