Fast shipping- thanks Amazon! It took me two minutes to install (maybe less). The quality is fantastic, and I am going to order three more for all my other bathrooms. This is truly a quality product. It actually matches my toilet better than the cold hard seat that it replaced.
You won't go wrong paying a little extra for this comfort seat.

We like the way it looks, though, and while I find it to be a bit uncomfortable (I'm used to the more flat seats), my hubby likes this one and says it doesn't bother him, no matter how long he sits on it (which can be a while, sometimes!)... Overall, it's nice-looking and functions fairly well, so we like it.

(More customer reviews)When received the seat had unsightly brown marks all along the external circumference. These marks do not come off with soap and water, the only approved cleaning materials according to the manufacturer. I returned the seat and ordered another. SAME PROBLEM!! Apparently when the manufacturer seals the seat in plastic the sealing device uses heat to make the seal and this is what damages the seat as the blemishes were consistent with the sealing seam. I returned the second seat and bought another brand.

I shopped around at Lowe's and Home Depot looking for a toilet seat that was worth the effort but found only flimsy boring choices. I went out on a limb and bought the Mayfair seat with Whisper Close hinges sight unseen.
I was impressed as soon as the UPS guy handed it to me. It was heavy with sturdy, thick construction and the whisper quiet hinges really work! No more slamming of the lid. If you have kids, this would be great, no chance of pinched fingers. The hinges themselves are attractive, made of quality brushed nickle.
This toilet seat is a great buy!

I looked on line and found that we were going to be paying 2-3 times what HD or Lowe's were selling theirs for... for some reason, I decided to check out Amazon... and viola! This is exactly what we were looking for....and I think this was even the brand at one of the stores at which I was looking.
We have been extremely happy with our purchase. It is well made... the hinges are nice and tight... there is no slipping... and it remains in excellent condition after a year of use.
I recommend this product to anyone looking for a sturdy seat with metal hinges at an excellent price (not to mention free shipping)!

(More customer reviews)I bought two of these seats to accentuate the polished brass finish of my bathrooms. Out of the box, the finish on one of them was uneven and sparse. The white color of the seat does not match that closely to the bowl or the white color of any other seat I have ever purchased. The seat sits at an angle on the bowl. Finally, after the first "splash" that of course would inevitably hit the polished brass hinge, it quickly corroded away the finish and left it mottled. My previous seats lasted 6 years and these will be in the trash after only one month, so my experience definitely differs from others. Maybe the story is better for the chrome hinges, but I would not buy the polished brass.

Amazon only has a "generic" description and it says "Whisper-Close Hinges". But the seller I purchased the seat from informed me that what THEY had was normal-closing hinges. I didn't have a problem with that so I went ahead and purchased the seat anyway. Glad I did!

As a previous reviewer indicated, there is a gap between both the adult seat and the toilet as well as between the little seat and the adult seat. Too much leaks out from both gaps. We got it and installed it yesterday and have had too many leaks already. Wish I could figure out an easy solution. It is a very nice looking seat but no functional in my home.
