(More customer reviews)This product was relatively easy to install. just measure down from the bottom of the counter top 4 1/2 inches and draw a level line (with a level) to establish the mounting location of the bracket. Do both sides. It is important that you use a level as you are installing a left and a right side. I has to shim out from the cabinet side due to the european hinges used in my base cabinet. Some plywood and longer screws solved my situation. Then take the width between the brackets minus 1 1/4 inch and this is the width of you shelf that you will need to supply and then make it 20 1/2 inches long. One could make the shelf not as long but the width is important. Spring tension allow adjustments for weights between 10 - 60 pounds. There is also room under the mixed when it is lowered into the cabinet for some storage, say aroung 5-6 inches in height. I am planning on a pull out drawer for underneath the mixer. Almost had a recepticle installed inside the cabinet but then relized it would be a nusiance to plug/unplug.
In short this worked much better than expected and is solidly built. I would use more of these instead of appliance garages given the avalibility of base cabinet space.
