(More customer reviews)This lamp looked like what I needed - appealing and bright and adjustable - but please beware. The entire lamp, from top to bottom, including the big base, heats up to the extent that you get burned upon touching it. It is not warm, it is not hot, it is burning hot. I burnt my finger trying to adjust it. Not typical of halogens - even hotter and rather odd that even the base heats up to such an alarming degree. I imagine this lamp could easily start a fire. I called up the company and the representative was extremely lackadaisical about the matter even though a sheet of printed material that comes with the lamp has all sorts of warnings about how hot the lamp gets - i.e. they have probably had problems and those warnings should be posted on Amazon so you see what is going on. Buy another lamp, I will be, this one is just too hazardous. Dangerous China junk in attractive packaging.
