Mount Display Shelves Efficiently and Economically Available in Chrome or Gold Finishes No Drilling of Glass is Required This CRL Anodized Aluminum Display Bracket for 1/4 Inch Glass is ideally suited for installing display shelves using 3/16 or 1/4 inch (5 or 6 millimeter) glass. The shelf is secured to the bracket with a single nylon tipped screw; no drilling of the glass is required. It is recommended that the brackets be installed into wall studs to provide maximum support. These brackets are intended for light weight display items. For Glass or Wood Shelves 1/8" to 15/16" (3 mm to 24 mm) Thick For Shelves Up to 10" (254 mm) Deep (Protrusion from Wall) Typical Applications Include Bathroom Shelves, Displays, Speakers, Collectibles CRL Glass Adjustable Shelf Brackets are designed to work with 1/8 to 15/16 inch (3 to 24 millimeter) thick glass or wood shelves, up to 10 inches (254 millimeters) deep. The material directly behind the bracket could have an effect on the brackets performance. The brackets are secured with one screw (included) to the substrate. In drywall installations for maximum strength, brackets should be secured to a stud no more than 16 inches (406 millimeters) apart. In concrete installations quality anchors are recommended. Hard materials such as concrete, tile or marble do not have the tendency to dent or collapse. However, depending on its condition, drywall can compress or dent and allow the front edge of the shelf to slant down. Therefore, the depth of the shelf and the amount of weight placed on it should be considered in this type of installation. For stud mounting, drill hole using 1/8" bit, to the depth of the screw and screw firmly. If using a wall anchor in necessary, be sure to select proper anchor for wall material, Maximum recommended weight per pair of DL631 Shelf Brackets correctly installed is 44 pounds (20 kilograms). (More customer reviews)These are the nicest looking brackets! The specifications were exactly as published, however they don't work very well with glass shevles that are more than about 6" deep. My shelves are 12 inches deep and while overall they look nice, there is not enough bracket support to place weighty items on the shelves. And, the shelves themselves tend to slope downward because of the need for additional support. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend them.
