(More customer reviews)I can't quite give this 5 stars, but it's certainly worth more than 4, at least so far.
We are in the middle of a two bathroom remodel, and I bought two of these, one for each bathroom. We have one bath completed already and are just starting the second. We really wanted the grab bar style so that we (us and guests) could adjust the height to our wishes. You can also swivel it to spray more into the tub or more straight down. We are also intending this house to be a rental someday, and we then wouldn't have to break into tile to accommodate short or tall people. It can be made low enough for children to have a good shower, or for someone pretty tall to not have to stoop.
We really like the removable showerhead, but didn't care about having massage or rain or anything else beyond "shower". We did not like the light green face on the shower, but we would have ended up spending a few hundred more $$$ to avoid it, and in the process gotten more features we didn't care about. However, we did notice that based on the layout of both bathrooms, the green would barely be noticeable if seen at all, and we'd barely look at it anyway once in the shower, so we decided to put up with it. But it does not go with warmer neutral tones!
When pulling the showerhead out of the socket to move it around yourself, and then putting it back, the hose can decide that it's not going to sit proper back in the socket and aim away from where you want it. A little jiggling will get it back. Once in, it will not move, and that's a huge plus. My old Moen did move in the socket because it was smooth plastic (the Grohe is rough metal for grip), and it was frustrating.
The reason we went with the Grohe line: We've taken a few cruises on the Holland American line, and they use Grohe slide bar showerheads. In a floating hotel, these things are going to take a beating. But they clearly hold up well, and that's what we want!
